"Deity" Prints Spark Controversy

by Bekah Hall

As the Senate’s recent discussion over several prints in the Campus Center basement reveals, Houghton students continue to grapple with the role of artwork on campus. The artwork in question, a series entitled “Deity,” was placed in the Collaborative Meeting Room earlier this semester. The group, comprised of married Houghton graduates Eric Stevenson, ‘08, and Elizabeth Jancewicz, ‘09, is unusual in that, during each gig, while Stevenson plays and sings, Jancewicz completes a new painting to be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
